Fitzpatrick Stadium isn’t the most polished venue in American sports—there’s a running track around the field, food trucks parked on the shot-put sand, and if you show up the day after a game, it looks more like a high school facility than the home field of a professional soccer club.

Families, longtime locals, and the newly arrived Mainers gather from all over the state to gather shoulder to shoulder and witness the Hearts of Pine take the field and transform 6,000 strangers into one cheering crowd.
“Everyone is smiling, everyone is happy. For two or three hours the world disappears,” says founder Gabe Hoffman-Johnson.
